EDCI503 Indigenous Educational Research Intensive

In the Indigenous Research Intensive, Master Degree candidates will develop skills and knowledge of Indigenous research methods and ethics and apply these to the development of their own educational research endeavors. Course activities will focus on difficulties/challenges associated with using Western research practices in Indigenous communities; understanding, applying, and elaborating research models, including the co-creation of community- and culturally-based research; and ethical concerns as they relate to protocols for using and citing Indigenous knowledge, developing research agreements, and data governance.
