MAST176 Clinical Procedures III
Clinical Procedures III is a combination of classroom and instruction and clinical skills. Theory and techniques required of the medical assistant in performing fundamental clinical skills at an intermediate level are further introduced. Competency in the entry level clinical procedures is demonstrated through successful procedure sign-off. Topics and/or skills covered include the medical assistant's role in phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, radiology, preparing for surgery, assisting with minor surgery, rehabilitation, emergencies in the medical office and community, and first aid for accidents and injuries. Students will earn an American Heart Association First Aid Certification.
