MAST136 Clinical Procedures I
Clinical Procedures I is a combination of classroom instruction and clinical skills. Theory and techniques required of the medical assistant in performing fundamental clinical skills at a beginner level are introduced. Competency in the entry-level clinical procedures is demonstrated through successful procedure sign-off. Topics and/or skills covered include the medical assistant's role in infection control, medical asepsis, medical histories and patient screenings, body measurements and vital signs, preparation for medical examinations, the physical exam, and specialty exams and procedures. Students earn a certification in Bloodborne Pathogens.
