NURS443R Health Promotion in Nursing
Health Promotion in Nursing examines the role of the professional nurse in promoting, maintaining, and restoring health across the lifespan and within diverse populations. Students explore health promotion theories, models, and evidence-based strategies that support individual, family, and community well-being. Course content emphasizes lifestyle behaviors, cultural and social determinants of health, prevention at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, and the nurse’s role in education, advocacy, and community engagement. The course prepares students to integrate holistic, culturally responsive health promotion strategies into professional nursing practice across healthcare settings.
