NURS421 QSEN Competencies
QSEN Competencies introduces the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) framework and its core competencies as essential foundations for professional nursing practice. Students examine the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to promote high-quality, safe, patient-centered care across all healthcare settings. Course content emphasizes patient-centered and culturally congruent care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety, and informatics. Students apply QSEN competencies to actively contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and high reliability while meeting professional, ethical, and regulatory expectations in contemporary healthcare environments.
Prerequisite
Admission to RN-BSN Program or senior year status in 4-Year BSN Program.
