HLTH210 Human Sexuality

Human Sexuality focuses on the complex concepts comprising human sexuality to provide the necessary tools for health promotion from local to global communities using gender-specific, culturally relevant research and evidence-based practice. Topics include history, reproduction, anatomy, gender and identify, health disparities of minority populations, and human trafikking. Methodology includes group discussions, lecture, role-playing, mini-assignments, computer simulation, games, case studies, and guest speakers. Laboratory settings are used to simulate real-life situations for human sexuality discussions and education, creation of client education materials, and review of human anatomy. Additional levels of cultural study and application prepare students to work with American Indians and Alaska Natives as well as other diverse populations within the public health setting.
