HLTH274 HPP Clinical Lab

HPP Clinical Lab focuses on the hands-on application of social, behavioral, structural, and cultural aspects at the individual, local, and community levels within the fields of Health Promotion and Practice, Public and Community Health, and Health & Wellness. This laboratory-based course is designed to provide students with hands-on tyhpes of learning activities such as field trips, computer simulation, role-playing, in-person simulation, and other kinesthetic learning modalities. The course develops critical thinking skills through assessment, investigation, planning, interventional, and evaluation through the application of coursework. Students are offered the ability to practice and hone clinician/client communication and coaching skills. The course offers a place to practice conversations in a safe environment prior to working with clients in the practicum setting with a focus on working with the indigenous community.
