AUTO110 Automotive Transmissions

Automotive Transmissions introduces automatic transmissions/transaxles, the study of power flow, and diagnosis of automatic transmission mechanical and hydraulic systems. Includes proper rebuild procedures, component identification and dynamometer testing of automatic transmissions. Students will be introduced to basic operation of hybrid drivetrains and continuously variable transmissions. The course is structured around a standardized task sheet from the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Includes relevant science and communication content.
