SCWK120 Introduction to Trauma and Care

Introduction to Trauma and Care introduces trauma and the core principles of trauma-informed care for Native individuals, families, and communities. The biological and psychological effects of trauma throughout the lifespan will be explored. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) will be examined in connection with health, social, and psychological outcomes. This course will also explore the risk and protective factors of trauma, secondary trauma exposure, and the necessity of self-care.
