HIEP141 Medical Coding and Billing

Medical Coding and Billing introduces procedural, diagnostic coding and billing in the medical office and hospital setting. Students will be able to identify major health care payers and be able to educate patients in the insurance process. Topics to be covered include electronic submission claim forms, billing techniques, ICD-10-CM codes, hospital billing and coding procedures, CPT coding and modifiers, UB-04 claims, CMS guidelines, HIPPA, flow of hospital patient data and Prospective Payment Systems (PPS).
