MAST153 Clinical Skills II
Clinical Skills II expands on teaching competency of MA’s skills and responsibilities in both the front and back office of a clinical setting. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered assessment, examination and treatment as directed by a physician, venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen collection and handling, identification of normal ranges, quality assurance and quality control. Students will reinforce skills learned and demonstrated in Clinical Skill 1 and will receive instruction in additional procedures represented in the current Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Students will receive further instruction on the use of an electronic health record system (EHR).
