BLDG109 Communication and Employability Skills

Communication and Employability skills provides students with information about the state of the construction industry, job opportunities, training options that may lead to a construction career how construction industry and potential employers operate, and what positive personal characteristics employers are looking for. Students will also develop essential employability and communication skills: listening to understand, speaking with clarify, using and understanding written materials, techniques to improve writing skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and other durable skills needed to succeed in the construction industry. This course aligns with NCCER Module 00100: Build Your Future in Construction, Module 00107, Basic Communication Skills, and Module 00108: Basic Employability Skills and prepares learners to complete the NCCER module completion certificates for the three topics covered. These modules are part of the NCCER Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills certification.
