Elementary Education (K-8) Endorsement Program for Early Childhood Education: P-3 Majors and Graduates

Program Description
This endorsement program is intended for those who are currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education: P-3 program at SKC, or those who hold a bachelor’s degree in ECE:P-3, or practicing teachers in Preschool-Grade 3 who are seeking an Elementary (K-8) endorsement on their state teaching license. In Montana, some school districts have encouraged P-3 licensed teachers to pursue an additional K-8 endorsement, thereby allowing them to attain teaching positions in upper elementary and middle school settings. This program satisfies those requirements. Career Opportunities and Program Outcomes are the same as stated in the Elementary Education (K-8) Bachelor’s Degree program.
Requirements
Students must submit to a multiple-level background check for this program.
Students must receive a "C" or better in all required education methods course while maintaining a 3.0 GPA in these courses and an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher to graduate from this program.
