MATH126 Algebra for High School Teachers
Algebra for High School Teachers provides a high-level perspective on the algebraic structures that underpin secondary school mathematics. Rather than focusing on rote computation, students will explore the why behind high school procedures through the lens of abstract algebra and number theory. Topics include the development of number systems, the relationship between polynomials and integers, the theory of equations, and the historical evolution of algebraic notation. Emphasis is placed on transforming advanced mathematical knowledge into pedagogical strategies that foster conceptual understanding in diverse 9-12 classrooms.
