EDUC255 Indigenous STEM for Secondary Education III

Indigenous STEM for Secondary Education III is an interdisciplinary course investigates the natural world through the dual lenses of Indigenous Science and Western Science, with a specific focus on the seasonal activities of the Séliš, Ksanka, and Qlispé people most appropriately conducted during the late summer and fall months. The course content and activities aim to bridge the qualitative observations of indigenous ways of knowing with quantitative Western mathematical frameworks. Through field labs, data analysis, and cultural engagement, students will learn to synthesize empirical scientific data with deep-time Indigenous wisdom to address modern and local challenges in sustainability and land stewardship.
