EDUC102 Orientation to Careers in Teaching

Orientation to Careers in Teaching engages students in an exploration of the many and diverse ways that professional teachers and school leaders change the lives of their students and impact the viability of communities. Through self-analysis, classroom observations, research presentations, and in-depth conversations with practicing educators, students will expand their knowledge base about the nature of teaching and learning. Aspects of the teacher-student relationship, including circumstances unique to indigenous learners, will be examined. Students will also learn about the benefits to self, family, and community that can be realized through a career in education.
