Certification in Grant Management

Program Description:
The Grant Management Workforce Certification is designed to prepare graduates with foundational skills to gain employment in tribal, non-profit, or public organizations that operate with grant funding. The program focuses on skills and knowledge in general grant funding, writing, submission, financial management, and project administration. Students learn basic skills in grant management, including federal funding cycles, roles and responsibilities, cost principles, uniform administration, and grant monitoring. The program emphasizes the process for writing grants and submitting grants to different agencies. Students will develop knowledge of project management once they have received a grant.
Learning Outcomes:
- ●Identify the purpose of federal grant funding and the government departments that provide grant funding.
- ●Understand criteria for applying for particular grants, including eligibility requirements, budget restrictions, and narrative requirements.
- ●Demonstrate how to write a grant proposal.
- ●Determine federal funding cycles and budgetary and regulatory requirements for grant financial administration.
- ●Recognize the roles and responsibilities of project investigators and the internal operational structure.
