HLTH291 Theories of Health Change: Behaviors and Coaching
Theories of Health Change: Behaviors and Coaching explores major theories and models behind health behavior change, as used in client counseling, health intervention design, and understanding behavior as a proximal determinant of health. In didactic and hands-on settings, students also practice interventional and motivational skills used to promote sustained health changes in clients and communities. A special focus of this course is the application of these theories and skills to the health disparities and cultural strengths specific to Indigenous communities.
