Certification in Building Trades

Certification Requirements

The Building Trades Workforce Certification is designed to introduce students to the major components of building trades. The Certification is offered in a condensed format, with each course offered in one day of book and hands-on learning. 

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate safe practices on a construction site.
  • Demonstrate proper use of tools commonly used on construction sites.
  • Recognize construction terms and material and apply that knowledge to produce acceptable products.
  • Develop the skills for an entry-level carpenter in residential and light commercial construction.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the work ethic, both physical and mental to be a successful carpenter.
