NLTE235 Promising Practices in Native Language Teaching Methods I

Promising Practices in Native Language Teaching Methods I is the first in a three-part series for teaching dual language learners in Native language and immersion contexts. Promising Practices in NLTM I provides an overview of best practice/research based instructional approaches and strategies in Native language contexts related to second language acquisition theory, methodology, and practicum. Discussion and analysis of past and current language acquisition strategies will be examined. Candidates will review, evaluate, modify, and implement dual language teaching methodologies that are linguistically and culturally appropriate within a classroom setting. Promising Practices in NLTM I will emphasize active inquiry-based learning, building background, and comprehensible input among other promising practices.
