NURS420 QSEN Competencies

QSEN (Quality and Safety Education for Nurses) Integration focuses on the importance of improving healthcare outcomes. Systems of care re-design are explored in this course with the aim of better serving patients and minimizing errors in the current complex healthcare environment. National initiatives directed at the improvement of reliable, safe care are examined in this course. Special emphasis is placed on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/academic schools of nursing partnership initiative entitled QSEN. The QSEN six competencies for post-licensure nursing students are analyzed with attention on the application of these competencies into the student’s workplace.
