NASD308 Ethnobotany

In this online course students will study the traditional uses of plants in use by North American tribal people from Arctic to South American environments. Students will describe and survey various ecosystems and plants that are used as food, medicine, and tools. Students will explain the concepts of ethnobotany and intellectual property as they pertain to Indigenous peoples globally. Virtual field trips and virtual labs will enhance learning. Students will create a portfolio of 40 plants.
