HCTP170 Industry Essentials: Regulations, Ethics, and Professional Skills

Industry Essentials: Regulations, Ethics, and Professional Skills helps students confidently step from the classroom into the workforce. Through guest speakers and industry professionals, students learn about current laws and regulations, safety requirements, diversity and civil rights, technical advancements, industry trends, and real-world workplace expectations, and examine the ethical, social, economic, and environmental considerations impacting the industry. OSHA-10 training is included. The course also focuses on professional skills (aka “transferable”, “soft”, or “durable” skills), employment opportunities, job-seeking skills, and interview preparation, to support a smooth transition into transportation and construction careers.
