SCWK423 Social Work Action Research
Social Work Action Research allows students to further refine their critical thinking, investigative, and written communication skills while conducting a research projects where students design and implement a program evaluation or research direct practice in their field placement agency or another agency. The course focuses on using appropriate data collection and analysis methods and principles derived from research, theory, practice wisdom, and their own experiences. Action Research includes ethics of evaluation and consideration of the political, social, cultural, and organizational factors affecting evaluation. Students will present a written research report and an oral presentation that summarizes the project and discusses the implications of findings for development of change.
