BIOS240 Principles and Applications of Genetics
Principles and Applications of Genetics is designed to provide information and experience about molecular and DNA based procedures that are useful for investigating environmental questions. An understanding of the principles of heredity and genetic expression will be applied to practical problems such as population genetics and species conservation. The laboratory includes methods and techniques for collecting and maintaining samples, purification of DNA and PCR, and real-time PCR to copy regions of DNA for analysis.
