ASTR110 Introduction to Astronomy

Introduction to Astronomy describes our solar system, the nature of the sun and the stars, the structure and composition of the galaxies, and the evolution of the Universe. Basics principles of physics are explained and then applied to astronomical phenomena, but no math beyond elementary algebra is used. Extensive use of computers and the Internet to analyze images and other astronomical data will be integral to the course.
