Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy
Drug Free Schools and Communities Act
In accordance with the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989, the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs by SKC employees and students on college property or ant any college activity is prohibited. SKC will uphold the Standards of Conduct below.
Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion, and may have serious legal consequences. Information regarding health risks associated with the use of illicit drugs and alcohol, as well as alcohol counseling, treatment,and rehabilitation programs, is available through the SKC Counseling Department and the SKC Disability Coordinator.
Standard of Conduct
SKC is an Alcohol and Drug-Free Campus. Alcohol and Drug Free is defined to include all food and beverages containing alcohol in open or unopened containers as well as any form of tobacco, electronic cigarettes, marijuana, and any drug defined as illegal in the State of Montana. This includes medical marijuana, which is not recognized as legal on the Flathead Reservation.
Tobacco used for traditional purposes is not prohibited.
