Grade Appeal Procedure
If a student believes that an assigned final course grade is innacurate, the student may file an appeal using the following process:
- Deliver a Grade Challenge Form to the instructor within 30 days from the date grades are issued by the Registrar's Office. Only in special circumstances may the 30-day time limit be appealed to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- The instructor has four (4) business days to determine whether the grade will be changed and submit a response to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- Within four (4) business days, the Vice President for Academic Affairs will decide whether to proceed with a hearing. In the case of a hearing, a committee will be determined; members will include the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Department Head, the student, the course instructor, one additional student, two faculty members, and one staff member. The hearing will be held within five (5) business days. The hearing will be private if privacy is formally requested in writing by the student. The decision of the committee is final.
