General Studies Certificate of Completion
Program Description
The General Studies Certificate of Completion provides students with a balanced academic experience by completing general education courses and exploring career opportunities. Students will develop skills for success through SKC Seminar and Academic Success courses. Courses like, Understanding and Utilizing Your Learning Style, Creating Your Employment Plan, and Job Seeking Skills will build the student’s employability. Students will be exposed to general education courses in the subject area of Native American Studies, Fine Arts and Humanities, Social Science, Natural Science, English, and Mathematics. This program provides the students the opportunity for career exploration through electives and a Professionals in the Field Seminar course.
Career Opportunities
Students completing the General Studies Certificate of Completion would not be employable in a specific field with the certificate. However, students would have a solid set of base skills in communication, critical thinking, and job seeking skills to successfully seek employment. Students who wish to continue their education, would have an academic foundation to begin an associate or bachelor program.

Upon completion of the Certificate of Completion in General Studies, graduates will be able to:
• Develop a broad base of knowledge and skills to become an effective life-long learner.
• Develop a comprehensive set of employability skills.
• Analyze personal interests and skills to determine a career or educational path.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Native American culture.
• Articulate personal attitudes and values related to educational and career opportunities.
