Information Technology, Bachelor of Science

Program Description

The Bachelor of Science Information Technology Program prepares students for entry level IT Network, System, or Security Administration positions within the workforce. Students will develop the knowledge and skills that are essential within the IT industry. Students will analyze, interpret, design, and maintain on-premise and cloud IT infrastructure as well as focus on overall infrastructure support. Students will learn about enterprise hardware and deployment, server-side system configurations, enterprise networking, security operations, enterprise cloud solutions, and troubleshooting. The BS level program utilizes curricula that focuses on the following certifications: Cisco, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

Career Opportunities

Students who complete the program will qualify for entry level technology positions such as Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, or Security Administrator. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree, students will:

  • Formulate, plan, and design a strategy to deploy an IT infrastructure based on the needs of a business
  • Use various methods of communication to demonstrate how to configure and deploy network service applications or cloud based services
  • Recognize and evaluate evolving technology solutions for IT infrastructure
  • Perform analysis on infrastructure security
  • Demonstrate how to work with a team to develop, organize, and complete an IT based project within the community
  • Identify and analyze IT solutions used within CSKT businesses
