The Certificate of Completion in Hospitality Operations provides a comprehensive overview of hotel and restaurant operations, application of customer service skills, development of appropriate accounting, critical thinking, and communication skills, and an understanding of the impact of cultural perspectives on staff and guest relations.
The curriculum was designed to meet the needs of local employers, to prepare students for entry-level employment. However, the program is also designed to provide stackable certificates and allow students to earn an industry-recognized certificate. Students who earn a grade of 70% or more in specific courses within the program will earn a certificate in that topic area from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.
Career Opportunities:
This program will allow students to exit with the knowledge and job skills necessary to qualify for immediate employment in the hospitality industry as entry-level managers. Students may also choose to transfer to a Bachelor in Hospitality Services program at other college or university.
Requirements
Students must earn a "c" or better in all required courses in order to complete the program.

- Apply understanding of culturally derived communication and expectations.
- Discuss basic concepts of the history, current issues, and cultures of the Confederated Salish, Kootenai, and Pend d’Oreille peoples.
- Understand the legal and ethical frameworks that impact the hospitality industry.
