Certificate of Completion, Grant Projects Assistant (45 - 46 credits)
The Grant Projects Management Program is designed to prepare graduates to gain employment in tribal, non-profit, or public organizations that operate with grant funding.
The Grants Projects Certificate of Completion and Associate of Arts are stackable credentials. Completers of the Certificate of Completion may choose to move into the Associate of Arts as full-time students or begin employment and continue taking classes as part-time students
Career Opportunities
Over $35 billion in grant and contract funding is distributed in the United States every year. Many tribal, public, and non-profit entities operate with numerous grants and contracts. Students completing the Certificate of Completion are qualified to work as grant technicians, performing invoicing, draw-downs, and basic accounting functions.
According to the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, the need for Business Operations Specialist (such as Grant Coordinator) Occupations is expected to increase 14% in the next eight years. The current average salary in Montana is $62,720.
Student Learning Outcomes
Students completing the Certificate of Completion Grant Projects Assistant will be able to:
• Explain the basic concepts and practices in managing grants.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic accounting functions and processes.
• Exhibit skills in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication applicable to administration of grants and contracts.
• Understand the implications of tribal sovereignty for grant and contract administration.
