COMPUTER APPLICATIONS CERTIFICATION
Program Description
A Certification in Computer Applications is designed to provide fundamental skills in commonly-used computer applications necessary for employment. Computer application skills have become an essential employment skill in today’s workforce; therefore, many jobs require basic to advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and electronic presentations such as that included in the MS Office Suite. Students have the opportunity to supplement any degree program with this 11-credit certification. Those successfully completing the required courses for this certification would be competent to perform the basic computer functions typically used in workplace applications.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing the Certification, students will be able to:
- Format documents using a word processing application.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets using appropriate formulas and functions.
- Design and mange basic databases including tables, queries, forms and reports.
- Build a presentation for organizational needs using graphics, animation, audio and text.
