FORS420 Fire Ecology
Fire Ecology explores the relationship between forest ecosystems and both wildland and human set fires. Fire regimes, forest tree adaptations and the ecological consequences of changing natural fire patterns are examined. Students will learn management techniques for both controlling fire through silvicultural prescriptions and for restoring fire to ecosystems where if has been suppressed.
