HIEP 131 Medical Office Billing II
Medical Office Billing II continues the study of medical office billing and reimbursement procedures. In this class students will be introduced to the ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding systems as well as inpatient and outpatient billing practices. By the end of the quarter the student will be able to complete a patient encounter form and statement; abstract patient information from a medical record to arrive at the proper diagnostic and procedural codes; complete a health insurance claim; and track and guarantee full reimbursement.
